The second and last day of the NFO XPO
See details on (Saturday April 19)
The NFO XPO (pronounced “info expo”) brings art groups, community organizations and artists together to exchange information and ideas. We view it as a trade show for experimental art, emerging spaces, and radical exchange. It’s our version of what an art fair should be and it’s a big part of the festival and the Dark Matter that is Version. Come see emerging artists’ visual works, and participate in artist-run spaces and projects. Learn how to XYZ. Watch some great new videos, meet future historians of the counter public sphere, and party with us like its 2099. View the NFO Directory for a list of participants.

Groups, projects, people and spaces representing this year are found here:
SPlease view NFO XPO Program Page for more details>
NFO XPO Fair and installations will be located in the main theater room. It opens at 1pm and will close around 9pm.
Talks, Screenings, and live music happen simultaneously to the Fair in the Studio room until 1:30am.

3:15pm Cracking The Looking Glass: Precarity and Everyday Resistance with Timothy Sarrantonio
This workshop is envisioned to be apart of the Free University platform. It will explore the intersections of theory and practice, specifically focusing on precarity, everyday resistance, and autonomous movements. Utilizing movie clips and popular culture references, the workshop will attempt to formulate ideas on how precarity can be used as an effective lens for activist organizing. Furthermore, the workshop will provide immediately useful resources such as bibliographic sources, a Chicago based activist resource map, and a stated goal of creating a militant research collective based around precarity organizing.
4:30pm Sunday Soup and OTHER OPTIONS
OTHER OPTIONS is a both a research project and traveling exhibition that looks at artists, both historically and contemporaneously, who have re-interpreted, altered and created infrastructures, which have affected their everyday lives and artistic practice. Within the current climate of support, artists are increasingly incorporating new models of resource allocation, community building, funding structures and forms of exchange as part of their artistic production . OTHER OPTIONS is a way to share research, imagine solutions and create a simultaneous network of similar practices dealing with conditions of support for artistic production.

What potential do these men have when the abuse goes too far? Will they rectify the situation for all to see? Will their plans include – GASP! – A GUN!? With a superb supporting cast finding out who will live or die in the ridiculous comedy is just part of the fun of Exclusively Yours...when these idiots punch in, it's business as usual. - myspace.com/magicpantz

8:30 pm Works by Jan De Bruin
A collection of shorts from one of our favorite Version filmmakers including:
Calling 911 (video 6 min.)Recorded in Los Angeles about the hidden network of rescue in the United States. An example of the idea that reality in America does not exist but is a constant continuation of a narrative. Distribution: Montevideo and Filmbank Amsterdam.
Waiting for Felipe (video 7 min. ) One-shot film about two Italian police officers waiting for the end of their own inconvenience. Making the unseen theatre of reality visible. Recorded in Milan 2005. Distribution Filmbank.
No Fire (video 7min. )One-shot film about a father and daughter sitting outside their own perception of time, reality and each other. Recorded in Hamburg 2006. Distribution Filmbank, Amsterdam.
Brussels 04-08-07 00:13 am (video 4min.)
The title of this piece is just a location, a date and a time. Just like any other true documentary work could have. This work is also a homage to the observer being portrayed. Observation functions as a base for understanding. But ‘to observe’ in it’s act is not ‘to understand’.

9:15 pm Rotterdam VHS Festival
The Rotterdam VHS festival shows videoshorts from all over the world, and takes place in an artist run space called "Het Wilde Weten" located in a former convent in the center of Rotterdam. Every 6 months we put together a 1.5 hour videoprogram and show this to our evergrowing (inter)national audience. For NFO XPO we will screen a special compiled program with some of the very best videos from our archives.
10:30pm - 1:30am Music
Magical, Beautiful
Ah, Music in the 21st Century. . .everything has been ridiculed and destroyed by punk/hardcore/noise, so now everything is available at a low, low price. What happens when a piano wiz-kid from Orange County grows up in the midst of this cultural chaos and gets his (hardcore influences) mixed up with his (psychedellic/rock/experimental influences)?
